Yes – No Question
If the Reported Word is in Yes – No Question sentence, then
the Indirect Speech uses conjuctions If / Whether.
Note : Reported
Word : - “Do you like me?”
Reporting Verb : - Chris
asked me
So,
the formula is : Reporting Verb + If / Whether +
Indirect Speech

Example : Direct speech -> Chris said, “Do you have money?”
Indirect speech -> Chris asked me If / whether I had money .
2 By Asking For Information (Wh – Questions)
When in Direct Speech ( Reported Word) there is a Question Word, so the Question Word
in Indirect Speech is used as Conjuctions.
The question Words are : Where, When, What, Why, How.

Word : - “Where is she going?”
Reporting
Verb : - He asked me
So,
the formula is : Reporting
Verb + Question Word + Indirect Speech

Example : Direct Speech -> Indra Said, “ Why do you come here?”
